The Malone Chamber can sit a 15 person Board of Directors as well as an Executive Director and Assistant who run day-to-day operations.

Our current Board is comprised of 8 directors.

Shannon Frenyea

Executive Assistant 
Education & Work Experience:   Bachelor of Arts, Industrial Relations, SUNY Potsdam, 2003, Masters of Public Administration, SUNY Brockport, 2005.  Recently retired from the Department of Homeland Security in December 2025 and relocated back to Malone.  Loving the quiet life.

What does Malone mean to you?:   People are real, the air is fresh and clean, and I love the snow! I am also active with the St. Regis Falls Cat Palace and Malone Fish and Game Club.

Barry Armstrong

A retired teacher, Barry has performed in and organized various community events such as the Winter Carnival Revue, Krebashia Kingdom (a medieval Fantasy Faire,) Mystical Forest River Walk, and Franklin County Has Talent, serves on several other boards such as Foothills Art Society, Malone Revitalization Foundation, Ekrub Players and Sensational Ltd. When he’s not traveling with family or volunteering around town, he can be found with the love of his life, sitting in their garden by their little brook, enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. ​

Kathy Almond

Kathy owns her own business, Kathy's Treasure.  She sells exquisite jewelry made of Swarovski crystals.

Kim Duffey

Director

Kim Duffey, recently retired from North Country Community College Malone campus, was a Professor of Business and Department Chair. Kim holds a background in law, government administration, entrepreneurship and teaching. Married to an artist entrepreneur for 30 years, her family permanently relocated from South Florida to the North Country in 2011. She is active in a variety of local organizations, including the Foothills Arts Society,  the Chateaugay Revitalization Committee, and the Chateaugay American Legion Auxiliary. ​

33 years teaching Spanish with Malone Central Schools. Retired, community volunteer.

Why I joined the Chamber: "I believe the Chamber can make a difference in the future growth of Malone. Growth not only means business prosperity, but making Malone a destination."

What does Malone mean to you?:  "Malone is my home and I want it to be a safe place that supports the well being of its citizens. It has impressive architecture and history, and to maintain its health takes work. I'm willing to work for it."

Education & Work Experience:  Nine years with Keybank as Branch Manager; Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Business/Hotel Management/Marketing.

Why I Joined the Chamber:  I wanted to make an impact on the community of Malone.  I have enjoyed many of the events the last 30 years that the Chamber has sponsored and would like to bring some ideas to the table to make Malone bright and flourish with all kinds of local activities. With my membership, I aim to bring prosperity and life back into this community.

What does Malone mean to you?  Malone is my hometown & means family to me.  I have spent many of a day with family, friends, co-workers celebrating this community.  Malone has been a staple of friendship, support and caring and I love the four seasons and the events that come with it.
